Premise and Herstory

Over the past several decades, I’ve combined the powerful framework of IFS (Internal Family Systems) with aspects of NVC (Nonviolent Communication), Attachment Theory, Polyvagal Theory, Meditation, a Social Justice Framework, Reflective Education, Expressive Arts Work, Addiction Recovery Principles (12 Steps) and Inner Child Recovery Work. (For a full list of credentials, please click here.) Through a comprehensive practice, I offer you the opportunity to receive individual skill building support to move through life’s challenges. The goal is to support the client to reclaim autonomy and confidence with life building skills coming out of complex trauma, addiction and grief experiences.

Application of these skills can range from moving through the affects of trauma; whether it’s from a one time experience (PTSD), generational, historic or complex experiences (CPTSD, DID, DDNOS…) or sexual trauma; recovering with various addictions or facing daily-life processing needs. Empowered Wellbeing Skills can be part of a foundation for more personal growth and expansion.

I’m here to work with you as you uncover your EMPOWERMENT and reclaim your inner agency and voice.

Empowered Wellbeing (EWB) was founded with a mission to support community members who have traditionally been underserved by the system, this includes those who identify as Black, Indigenous and People of Color. As well, EWB serves community members of all ages, abilities and backgrounds.

EWB recognizes there are ways of living that are not always visible or supported within a cis-gendered heteronormative approach to care. All genders, no genders, all compassionate ways of caring, companioning and orienting are welcomed, invited and valued in this work.

EWB also regularly offers discounted services to community members based on need and availability. If you are interested in donating to support this work, please feel invited to visit the Donating to EWB page of this site.

EWB serves an engaged, diverse community, as well EWB offers ongoing specialized care for the following needs:

  • Adults Healing from Childhood Sexual Abuse

  • Adults Healing from Intergenerational/Historic Trauma

  • Adults Healing and/or Recovering from Addictions, including food, alcohol and process addictions

  • Adults Seeking Professional Support as they work the 12 Steps

  • Adults seeking support with Anxiety and Depression

  • Adults seeking support with integration of Social Justice Informed NVC, Parts Dialogue, Meditation, Energy Work and Yogic Principles into their daily lives

  • Creatives seeking support to heal from trauma-informed blocks

  • Parents, Community Support Professionals and Caregivers

  • Consultation Support for helping professionals

Clients may find that after some concentrated work together they are able to do the recovery and healing work more and more on their own.

This process is about supporting clients with uncovering their courage, natural confidence, empowerment and more.
